Trudi Buck

Professor, Department of Anthropology

Trudi Buck is a biological anthropologist specialising in the inclusive and ethical study of human skeletal remains.  She runs a Level3 module named Reading the Skeleton in which students learn not only about skeletal morphology but also the debates around the ethics of learning and teaching with human remains.  She also co-teaches the Level3 module Decolonising Anthropology.  Her scholarship and research interests are centred around pedagogical methods for making the study of human skeletons more transparent, including creating osteobiographies of the individuals who make up the anatomical collection curated in the Anthropology department.
