Gemma Lewis
Curator (Archaeology and Natural Science) in the University Library and Collections (ULC)
Gemma Lewis is Curator of Archaeology at Durham University and, since 2023, has also curated the University’s Natural Sciences collections. Working across archaeology and natural sciences has introduced new perspectives and dynamics to her work with collections. She supports teaching, research, and exhibitions, and is particularly interested in how museums and collections can make hidden histories more visible through storytelling, and visual interpretation. Her work focuses on practical, collaborative ways of connecting collections with students, researchers, and wider audiences.
