Gabriella Treglia

Gabriella Treglia is an assistant professor of American and Indigenous history at Durham University. Her research focuses on the nature and implementation of federal government education and cultural policies towards Native American nations in the first half of the 20th century. She explores themes of settler colonialism and cultural genocide, and the strategies employed by Indigenous nations to defend cultural sovereignty. Her work has been published in Western Historical Quarterly, Journal of the Southwest and Journal of American Studies, and her forthcoming monograph is contracted with University Press of Kansas.
